From vibrant cities to small villages and serene mountains, China has something for everyone. Teaching is regarded a noble career in China, and you will be welcomed by locals no matter where you go. From food to the most amazing scenery, China has PLENTY to offer. Come and see for yourself!
Step 1: Apply for your Police Clearance Certificate at your nearest police station or at the headquarters in Pretoria to speed the process up a little bit. It takes a few weeks (4-6 weeks) so apply as soon as you can.
Once you have received it within 4-6 weeks average, send scans of these documents to us and just keep it safe as you don't need it just YET. PLEASE SEND US ALL THE DOCUMENTS AS YOU RECEIVE THEM ONE BY ONE.
Step 2: Make a COLOUR photocopy of your bachelor's degree and take it to a law firm to get them to notarize the copy. At most places they give you a circular stamp.
Step 3: Go to the Department of Higher Education and Training in Pretoria (Francious Baard Street) and get a letter verifying that the institution that you studied at is legitimate institute. The officials will stamp your degree copy and staple a letter to it.
Step 4: Take your Police Clearence Original and your Notarized Degree with letter stapled to it, to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) in Pretoria. Submit your documents for legalizing. They only take a day if you have 5 or less documents. You can collect them the next day. It is easier to do this in person. They will attach a page to the front of your Police Clearence and Degree copy that verifies the signatures on these documents. The page they attach has a red seal on it and the documents will be bound with green cord. DO NOT DAMAGE THE SEAL OR CORD. They do this for free.
Step 5: Take your notarized, legalized documents to the Chinese Consulate/Embassy for authentication. They will need copies of your passport. You will fill in a form and submit your documents to them. They take approximately 4 days. There is no cost for standard service. You will receive a pink receipt.
Our agent in China will send you a notification letter once you have sent us all your documents.
Step 6: Applying for a Z Visa. Our agent will assist with the visas though you can do it on your own. YOU CANNOT LEGALLY WORK IN CHINA ON ANY OTHER VISA. You now take you NOTARIZED (LAW FIRM), LEGALIZED (DIRCO), AND AUTHENTICATED (CHINESE CONSULATE) documents to a Chinese Visa application center, as well as the notification letter, your passport and a few copies of it, to the center, and apply for a Z VISA. Keep in mind that some schools may require you to go through a medical before you arrive in China, some don't. Do it anyway to be safe. All schools require vaccination cards too. Visas take about a week to process.
